WAYNE BROWN

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Wayne served in various Management positions in Lime Distributors and following the sale of Lime Distributors to Idwala in 1998 he was appointed as the Managing Director. During 2007 his responsibilities were extended to include Idwala Lime’s marketing function before being appointed as Deputy Managing Director of Idwala in 2008. Following the formation of the Bud Group in 2017 he was appointed as the Managing Director of Idwala and also sits on the Executive Committee of the Bud Group. He also serves as the Chair of Omya Idwala SA a joint venture between Idwala and Omya AG.

JACO SWANEPOEL

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Jaco Swanepoel began his career at Idwala Lime in Danielskuil in 1988. After 12 years, he transitioned to the role of Engineering Superintendent of Industrial Minerals in Benoni. In 2008, he returned to Danielskuil as Quarry Manager. By 2012, Jaco had moved to Lime Distributors in Vereeniging, where he served as Plant Manager before being promoted to General Manager. He returned to Idwala Lime in Danielskuil in 2014 as General Manager. In 2019, amid Idwala Industrial Holdings’ restructuring, Jaco was promoted to General Manager of the Lime Division. In 2021, he was appointed Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all operations at Idwala, a position he continues to hold today.

JACO VORSTER

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Jaco Vorster is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA). He is the Chief Financial Officer at Idwala Industrial Holdings and responsible for the Finance Shared Services, Business Partnering, Financial Reporting, Commercial

IZAK VAN NIEKERK

Business Development Executive – Lime Divisions

Izak graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree from the University of Cape Town. He also holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce Degree from UNISA and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Wits Business School.

EUGENE VAN ASWEGEN

HEAD OF SALES AND MARKETING

Eugene has been involved in the cement and lime industry for 37 years. He joined Idwala Industrial Holdings in 2009. Prior to this he worked for Lafarge Cement and was part of the Leader for Tomorrow program, spending 3 months at Insead Business School near Paris, France. Eugene has focused on Industrial Sales and Marketing and has spent many years selling cement and lime in Africa.

GARY WOOD

HEAD OF SUPPLY CHAIN

Gary has been in the logistics industry for 35 years. He joined the Lime Distributors team in 1993. Prior to this, he worked at Waste-tech where he was involved in the disposal of various hazardous wastes. During his time at Idwala, Gary has been instrumental in the development of Idwala owned dedicated vehicles. These vehicles are highly optimised to perform at levels beyond industry norms which allows Idwala to offer its customers superior service at highly competitive rates.

PAM LINDSAY

HEAD OF HUMAN RESOURCES

In November 2012, Pam joined Idwala with a mandate to establish a shared services framework covering Finance, HR, Logistics, and IT. Leveraging her extensive 24-year HR career, which includes consulting and management roles prior to Idwala, Pam was instrumental in driving this initiative. She is the holder of a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a Labour Law Degree. Furthermore, she serves as a Trustee on Idwala’s Employee Share Option Plan (ESOP) and the Idwala Community Development Fund, demonstrating her commitment to the company’s success and the welfare of its employees.

SALLY REDDY

HEAD OF IT

Sally started as a Technical Secretary at the Carbonates Operation in 1998. With a BCOMM degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, she joined a graduate trainee program and found her calling in IT. Appointed as a Business Systems Analyst in 2000, she relocated to Gauteng in 2016 and became Support Manager in 2017. Currently, Sally oversees Idwala’s Infrastructure and Applications landscape, combining her passion for technology, people, and growth.

ATANG MABOEE

GENERAL MANAGER

Atang joined Idwala in 2013 as a graduate trainee and holds a B.Sc.(Eng.) degree in Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand. After completing his graduate program, he became Quarry Superintendent at Idwala Carbonates, then Quarry, Quality, and Environmental Manager in 2015. In 2016, he was appointed Plant Manager for Industrial Minerals and promoted to General Manager in 2017, overseeing operations in Ottosdal, Benoni, and Phalaborwa. In 2019, he became Divisional General Manager of Industrial Minerals, also managing the Idwala Carbonates plant near Port Shepstone, KwaZulu Natal. As of 2021, Atang also serves on the Idwala board and as an executive director of the company.

JACQUES FITZPATRICK

GENERAL MANAGER - LIME DIVISIONS

Jacques joined the company in 1997 as a millwright apprentice and successfully completed his apprenticeship alongside his electrical engineering studies in 2002. Subsequently, he assumed the role of a technical assistant at Idwala’s Port Shepstone operation, where he contributed to the project department for four years.
